Paint, Paint everywhere.

Ok, so I haven't had a lot of time to create this last week, in fact I have a card that I need to design for our Spring Card Class. I have been busy at the new house paining and getting it ready for the big move, which is tomorrow!!! We decided to paint Kaitlyn's room first! Boy did it take some time to cover the bright yellow paint. But we are finished and I can't wait to add the finishing touches. I'm thinking of using the QuickKutz Silhouette at the store to cut out some vinyl designs for the walls. This stuff is great because you can just peel it off if you want to change your design. Or if you still like to paint your design you can use the Silhouette or Pazzle to make stenciles. Come on by the store and check out all the cuts we have to make a one of a kind kids room.

Another GREAT year at Scrap -n- Stamp!

February 10th is the official FIRST day that we open our doors TWO years ago. I have been blessed with meeting so many new people and life long friends. It was this day that Debbie became a part of my family and one of the best "Auntie" to my kids. She brings not only the knowledge of this industry that is constantly changing but she defines the true, true meaning of giving her all to Scrap -n- Stamp and my family. Everyone who knows Debbie knows what a special person she is and from top to bottom- all 4 feet 10 inches of her is full of kindness.

In addition to Debbie... all the girls @ Scrap -n- Stamp (as we always say) are the very best! As some have come and gone, we have had the crew that rocks!!! Becky, Chas, Sommer, Jen, Denise, Marilea, Lisa, Allie, Steph and Kim - whether it has been in the past or here today, you all have brought a positive input to our little store and I thank you for being a part of this creative store.

Another special cheer to our many, many awesome customers...our family and friends for helping me build a fun and refreshing store to Elk Grove! I "Thank You!" from the bottom of my heart!

With that said...Happy 2nd Anniversary to Scrap -n- Stamp!

*PS- if you're wondering if we're gonna have a celebration....we will!! Keep your eyes open for more details to come...

**PSS-If you happen to come by today, Tuesday 2/10...you'll get a little surprise with your purchase! (a pre-celebration!)

I recently stumbled upon this fab blog An Altered State of Mind.  Check it out to see her paper fortune cookies and take-out box - too cute!  Easy peasy and a super fun Valentine's gift :)

Another fun and cute Valentine's and/or teacher gift is an altered mailbox.  Target carries a metal mailbox around this time every year in their Dollar Spot.  Last year my pal Julie W. and I made them for our kiddos' teachers.  We covered them in pretty paper, tied ribbons to the flag, and added the teachers' names to the side (and added Stickles for some extra sparkle!).  Filled them with chocolates and a Starbucks gift card.  I also made one for each of my kiddos.  They keep them in their rooms and occassionaly I tuck a little note or surprise in there.

Here's a few examples of altered mailboxes...

I'm going chipboard crazy....

Okay, I'm not sure why I'm stuck on chipboard these days. I've been looking at this acrylic design that I started for the last few weeks, but I keep going back to CHIPBOARD! Typically I go with a smaller 6x6 chipboard-easier to use and my mind can handle a smaller work area. MLYB (My Little Yellow Bicycle) came out with this beautiful line called Love Letters and every inch of this paper is full of art, so I decided to create a 8 1/2 x 11 album! They have this circle scallop edge paper that I folded in half (as you can see above) and I included that inside the book. Incorporating all different shapes and sizes of paper and embellishments, this album was a blast to make. The final touch...I used our Zutter Bind-It All handy tool to bind our book and it's all ready to add in those special pictures! Oh and don't forget...our favorite Pazzles die cutting machine created this awesome die cut of a fancy "L"...this font's style is the perfect match for this paper. This is also a class for you to sign up for anytime during store hours! With Love...

Easy Birthday Card

With inspiration from a card Debbie made for Kaitlyn's first Birthday, I was able to create a special Birthday card for my mom. I used Basic Grey's Urban Prairie paper and chipboards, BoBunny double dot paper, rub-ons from American Crafts and of course some Stickles. I also found this great website that has poems you can print on Vellum and put on the inside of your cards. Check it out: www.poemsource.com
