Fog Isn't Fog

Maybe my mind is foggy from lack of coffee, but I think tule fog is different from San Francisco fog. The fog in our area is drearier to me. What do you think?

While you're contemplating this question, please enjoy the card that Marilea and Debbie designed celebrating "San Francisco Days" a song by Chris Isaak. The patterned paper and stickers are from Paper House Productions which you can find in our travel section. The stickers were popped up for added dimension and the title was accented with Stickles.

Remember you have until December 5th to drop off your card or page layout entry for our current challenge to use a song title in your creation.

Sweet Child O'Mine

OK, so I'm a little behind on the Scrapbooking, after all Kaitlyn did have her first Birthday. And yes these are the pictures from when she was born. I used page maps to create this layout, and let me tell you that make's it so much easier. The background paper is Bo Bunny Double Dot. I also used Imaginisce "Baby Powder" Cutie Patootie and Tiny Tantrum, I just love their baby papers. For the flowers I used the Fabulous Prima Obbessions and Sprites, which we have a huge selection of colors in the store right now!!!

And if I would have thought about it, I could have used "Sweet Child O'Mine" for the title and it would have worked for the November Challenge. Don't forget you still have time to submit your layouts and cards for this months Challenge. We are extending the deadline this month to the 5th of December!!!! Check out the details for the November Challenge it's not too late to enter.

Oops, I forgot to blog.

Sorry ladies, I was so caught up in my Birthday celebration yesterday, I forgot to blog. I had a fabulous Birthday. Deniz took me to dinner, just the two of us ;-) I know that does not sound like a big deal, but we haven't done that since Kaitlyn was born. If you looking for a good place to eat I would recommend Scott's Seafood. Debbie told me about it, and it had a nice atmosphere and good food, and the Cosmopolitansss were good too!!!

If your in search of the perfect Birthday card stop by Scrap-n-Stamp, we have one-of-a-kind pre-made cards, or step up to our embellishment bar and pick on of our Make-n-Takes, all you have to do is glue. We hope to see you soon.

I found this website www.yourfonts.com where you can create a font of your handwriting for FREE! It's very easy. You simply print their template, write your alphabet, scan & upload the document, download the font, install it, and it's ready to use! This is especially useful to all you digi scrappers out there. Have fun!

Here's a sampling of my new font...

Come On Baby Light My Fire!

Marilea, Debbie, and I had fun creating this card to help "spark" your creative juices for this month's card and layout challenge. For those of you too young to recognize the song title, it was made famous by Jim Morrison and the Doors in the 60's.

We used acrylic stamps from Cat's Pajamas, Harley Davidson patterned paper, Marvy scalloped punches, orange stickles, Copic markers and some bling on the belt. Take some time to spark your creativity today...

All the Leaves are Brown

Sommer's picture of cutie-patootie Kaitlyn inspired me to search for some Autumn quotes. Here's a few of my favorites...

No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face
-John Donne
A fallen leaf is nothing more than a summers wave good bye

Leaves in the Fall come tumbling down,
Scarlet and yellow, russet and brown,
Leaves in the garden are swept in a heap,
The trees are ready for sleep.

Gathering Leaves
by Robert Frost

Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.
I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.
But the mountains I raise
Elude my embrace,
Flowing over my arms
And into my face.
I may load and unload
Again and again
Till I fill the whole shed,
And what have I then?
Next to nothing for weight,
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth,
Next to nothing for color.
Next to nothing for use.
But a crop is a crop,
And who's to say where
The harvest shall stop?

I also searched for apple poems but could only find sing-songy preschool poems and Robert Frost's After Apple Picking. Let me know if you have a good apple picking poem. :)

Here's a couple of Autumn themed layouts I just completed...

Patterned paper is Daisy Buckets Designs "In the Meadow." Felt leaves cut with Sizzix. Hand-stitched swirl. Based on a sketch by Jayne Jones.

This one is a copy of my "Good Day Sunshine" layout. I couldn't decide on a title - Apple Picking or Apple of My Eye. Then I thought it would also make a great school layout, so I just skipped a title altogether!
The apple print is K I Memories "School Days," the apple lace is K I Memories Lace Cardstock, and the green polka-dot is Daisy Bucket Designs "Playful Petals." The felt apple was cut with my Sizzix.

Be sure to read Sommer's post again - just because Kaitlyn is so stinkin' cute! And for the link to your chance to win a $25 shop gift certificate!!

"Fall" into Scrap-n-Stamp

Although is has been unusually warm the last couple of days, fall is here. Kaitlyn loves to pick up and carry around all the leaves that fall off the trees. So I decided to stick her in a pile of leaves and take a few pictures for the scrapbook. And I know the perfect paper to use. The Autumn Harvest collection from The Paper Company. So if you are like me and have some great pictures of your kiddo's playing in the leaves come in and check out "Autumn Harvest".

Cute As A Button

What better way to celebrate Button Day than to share a layout Marilea created of her darling grandson, Dylan. Marilea used Reminisce's My Jungle Safari papers and stickers, Bazzill scalloped edge paper, and wooden buttons for accents. Dylan loves his new rainforest toy! What a cutie!!!
Please read Renee's post for today too.

"Fall" into the seasons....

This time of year, the leaves turn into the beautiful orange-reddish brown color that makes you feel the last of the warmth before we jump into the winter. The funny thing was, I had plans to change the window display from Halloween to the Winter holidays...but both Denise and Debbie said..."Wait! You missed Fall!" This is Denise's favorite time of the year to decorate...so come and see our new window display because before you know it...I'll be putting up the holiday items.

I want to get away, I want to FLY away...

Sommer sent this paper to me from Teresa Collins' Travelogue line. Any and all kinds of trips are covered by this line: plane, cruise, car, international. And the colors are timeless - red, black, white, and tan. Simply classic! This layout is perfect as the title or end page for any trip.
