O Give Me a Home

Ack!  As you can see, I forgot to blog yesterday.  I sat down at my desk several times to do it, but somehow got sidetracked by something else.  You know how it is!

I'm anxious to see what the Girls found at CHA.  I've seen tons of sneak peeks online and can't wait to get my hands on so many different things!  But what I really want to know is if Renee and Debbie saw Paris Hilton?!  Did all y'all know Paris has a scrapbooking line?  Apparently she's a big scrapbooker - who knew?!  That's HOT!  lol

This is for B...

We are back from CHA

Well, it was a quick but fun trip down to Anaheim for the annual CHA convention. We saw quite a few new products from various companies. There were quite a few companies that either didn't attend or had gone out of business, which was very sad to see. It is apparent that the economy has hit the scrapbook/craft business as well. Need less to say though, we still saw some very cute and beautiful products from the companies that attended. We have new and exciting stuff coming in from Imaginisce, Basic Grey, Doodlebug, My Mind's Eye, etc. The fun stuff should start arriving in February and will continue to arrive from there on out. Keep an eye on the blog for pictures from the show.

Makin' Layouts and Cards from Scraps !!!

Lately, the girls here at Scrap -n- Stamp have been busy creating 12x12 layouts and cards using the "scraps" from previous projects. It has been fun trying to come up with ideas using only leftovers i.e. mainly paper, ribbon, flowers, etc. For me personally as a non-scrapbooker, it makes it easier to scrapbook with the 'scraps' because I'm not having to figure out what size to make all of the mats. The work is basically done as I only have a certain amount of pieces to work with and they are already pre-cut. Challenge yourself if you have 'scraps' in your collection. Try and see how many layouts, cards or projects you can come up with or get your family and friends together and create a challenge as a group as to who can come up with the most finished projects. You'll be amazed as to how many items you'll create. Have fun !!!!!!!

Brand new in from Webster's Pages are some beautiful papers that have an antique look to them. There are florals mixed with nature i.e. branches, leaves and butterflies that have rich and pretty victorian color schemes. These paper are just right for heritage pages as well as projects or cards for the special ladies in your life. Also, there is a ribbon/lace packet, calendar and journaling sets that coordinates with the papers. So, when you get a chance, come on by to the store to check these wonderful new product out.

That's one Hip Croc!

I have the privilege of scrappin' my friend B's photos of her recent trip to Africa. She snapped many extraordinary pictures! Including a few that continue to give me the heebie-jeebies just thinking of them! EEeeeeeuuuuuuuuwwwwwww!

Here's two layouts I just completed:

Title stamped using Tim Holtz alpha stamps (thanks, M!) and Making Memories paint.  I also painted around the edges of the center pic (yes, it's supposed to be askew).

Close-up of journal tag - love the textures!

Based on a pagemap by Becky Fleck.  I used two paint colors and a crackle medium on the arrow.  Check out that stitching on the edge!

So it's not perfectly straight, but not bad for the first time machine sewing on paper.

Hey, B, hope you like what you see :)

Love is in the air...

Once we cleaned up our holiday decorations, I was ready to roll into the most sweetest day of all...Valentine's Day. As my husband says to me...it's Valentine's day for him everyday :-) (Good one huh!). I do have to say though, Valentine's Day is just another excuse for us to go out on a special date and reflect on how much love we have for each other.

If your looking for a creative way to express your love, come make a card for that someone special in your life. Sign up for our Valentine's card class and you'll make enough cards for family and friends!

Making this card with transparent 12x12 paper took this unique card to a whole new design. Trying new ideas is always so much fun! Enjoy...

Oh where oh where could my scrappin' Mojo be?

The kids are back in school, the holiday decorations are put away, and this is my third day without carbs! I'll finally be back in the studio today working on my pal B's Africa album and trying out my new sewing machine on a few creations.

While perusing scrap blogs I came across this great tutorial by the talented Patter Cross at Pink Persimmon. Super easy and a cool look too - try it out!

Also found a fab new (to me) blog... scrapiopath.

Be on the look-out for a new Challenge soon!
