Lane from Lasting Impressions coming to Scrap -n Stamp!!!

We are excited to announce that Lane from Lasting Impressions will be here on Thursday March 26th giving a presentation on Memory Mixer 3 for our customers. The presentation is "FREE" to all who would like to attend. Memory Mixer 3 is the newest digital scrapbooking version which Lane is excited to be able to talk about and showcase how Memory Mixer works so that you can get the most out of the program. He mentioned that if you would like to, you can bring a flashdrive with about a dozen pictures on them and he will show you how to use it with Memory Mixer 3. Also, if you have an MP3 player, bring it along with you and Lane will show you how to incorporate your favorite music or videos into your digital scrapbooks. You do not have to sign up however, if you wouldn't mind letting us know if you would like to attend that would be great because our space is somewhat limited. Thank you!!!!

M.I.A.

My duties for SnS have had to be put on the back burner so I could focus on some other projects, responsibilites, and just life in general! Our time here in the Heartland land will be ending in 3 short months and we will be moving on to the EAST Coast! We will be making our home for the next three years in Virgina Beach, VA. We are thrilled that we'll be soooooooo close to an ocean again :)

Love that the new challenge involves using up your scraps! And, Ladies, whatever you don't use - either throw in your recycle bin, give to the kiddos for their crafts, or consider donating to a senior center or women's shelter. In fact, my challenge to you is to purge your Craft Space - stop collecting products. Just like clothes in your closet, if you've had it for more than 6 months and haven't used it, then it's time to pass-it-on. So donate those supplies and then reward yourself with a little shopping :) Declutter, do a good deed, and stimulate the economy all at the same time.

I'm headed to a scrapbook retreat next weekend. I'm spending this weekend planning my layouts - I will be working on a little bit of our family album, finishing up our last trip to Disneyland, but mostly working on B's Africa pages. Here's what I have done for B so far...

Born to be Wild

Once again Debbie has wowed us with her mad skills. Of course she says she is not a Scrapbooker, but no one would believe that by looking at this super cute layout she made with the Baby Safari line from My Little Yellow Bicycle. And if it's not cute enough, can you believe she made this from scraps as well?? Debbie used scraps from a chipboard book Denise made. We will be posting pictures of the chipboard book project later, it is super cute as well.

Do you have an All Star??

I created this layout with the new "Boys only" Line from My Minds Eye. It was very simple to create and I only used Three sheets of the printed paper, and as usual I passed my scraps on to Debbie, and she of course is making some great cards. The stars are from the same line, and they come individually, here I used pop-up Foam on the back of that stars and the title to give the page dimension. And since this layout would be for a boy, I distressed the edges of the paper, and used brown ink to give it a worn look. And of course I used my favorite machine the Pazzle to cut out the title. If you like this layout, but don't have the time to make it, come by the store, this layout as well as all the other layouts we make are for sale.

Our Challenges are BACK!

Last month...we highlighted some of our own challenges. It was all about using and recycling our "Ssss...craps" :-) Sommer would start a scrapbook page using larger pieces of scraps. Then, she would pass on her left over smaller pieces to Deb. Deb would turn those little scraps into 3-4 awesome cards. It's amazing to see what the girls would create when we would typically throw the scraps away... they utilized every last piece of scrap :-)

We want to challenge you to use your scraps and come up with a 12x12 scrapbook layout or a card. Use any scraps you have, embellishments to add some kick to it and last but not least...what comes right after SCRAP...n...STAMP. Include a rubber stamp image on your layout or card. If you don't have any rubber stamps, come by Scrap -n- Stamp and use any of our in house stamps for this challenge. So, submit your creation and include two things: SCRAP -n- STAMP's - sounds familiar huh :-).

All entries are dues no later then, April 18, 2009. Winners will be announced by the end of April. Have fun and good luck!

A place to create

So this has to be the best part of our new house!!! I finally was able to unpack all my Scrapbooking supplies and organize my own little Scrap nook. I had all the supplies, but I needed some items to organize it all. So I made a trip to IKEA, and let me tell you they have some great items to organize your crafting area. You just have to think outside the box a little, since they are not typically used for craft storage.
Above I used a spice rack to store my buttons, brads, eyelets and other little embellishments.
Here I used a wire for hanging photo's or other things, to organize my acrylic stamps. It also great to hang finished cards or pages that you want to admire before sending or putting in your scrapbook. Remember it's spring cleaning time... Have fun organizing.

So I am new to most of this (Cardmaking, Blogging and more). I am being inspired by all of my co-workers and wanted to share one of the first cards that I have made. Using the American Crafts Teen Collection, I used the Zebra print paper to create this Red, Black and White birthday card for my sister-in-law's 25th birthday. I decorated it with embellishments such as flowers, rhinestones, brads, Liquid Applique, Thickers and Stickles. I was able to cut out the letters using the ever so cool Pazzle machine. Sommer also told me about this website called www.poemsource.com, in which you can use their poems as long as you give them credit on the card. ~Kim

Under Construction!!!

Kim and I were motivated Saturday to take down the Valentine's window display. Renee said we could just leave it blank, but we figured we should put something in the window. Kim came up with a great idea to use the new Road sign paper from Reminisce...

This paper is great, if you have pictures of a little boy and his Tonka trucks this would be the perfect paper to scrapbook those pictures. It would also be cute for party invitations.... Come and check it out on Monday, and remember every Monday we have a free Make-n-Take card!!!
