9/1/08 It's not only Labor Day...we have a very special birthday!

First off, I like to wish everyone a very relaxing Labor Day and hope your day off (for most people) will be enjoyable.

Today, we are celebrating a very special birthday. All of us at Scrap -n- Stamp wish our very own Ms. Debbie a very Happy ??th Birthday :-) We can't spill out her age, but we know she looks like she's turning 21!!! So our little Debbie is "growing up" right before our eyes. So Deb, we hope you had a very FUN weekend and wishing you many more years of being young! :-)

Happy Birthday Debbie!

Are you ready for some Football?!

My DH just informed me football starts next week. So in honor of the new season here's a layout featuring my hubby & kiddo playing football in our backyard last Thanksgiving. This is one of the layouts I completed at the all-day crop I attended a few weeks ago. I used love, elsie CODY paper and cardstock stickers. This paper rocks for whatever sport you want to highlight.

Nothing but Blue's Clues

For all of you Blue's Clues fans, Sommer has created a doggone adorable 12x12 page using Blue's Clues stickers and paper from Sandylion. Don't throw away the scraps because from the paper scraps and extra stickers, we have created two cards. What a deal a 12x12 page and two cards using three printed sheets and two packages of stickers and you will still have extra pieces.

8/28/08 Just in...Cosmo Cricket, straight from CHA!

Ahh....the cutest camping paper ever from Cosmo Cricket. Check out the marshmallow guy...so adorable. Sommer dove right in and created the two side by side 12x12 layouts...ya gotta see the originals, it's wonderful. Welcome Mr. Campy!

Also new from CHA, it's Jack's World. This is perfect for those baby memories. Come by Scrap -n- Stamp and see all the newest product.

*Lots of new Halloween product just in too!

Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho...

...A pirate's life for me!

Ok, so he's not a pirate. But he's mighty cute - er, handsome. Argh!

This layout would be great for any pirate, even digging in the sand (treasure hunting!), or any "treasured" photo. :)

Chas sent me a medley of pirate papers from the shop and I added my favorite Bo Bunny Double Dot paper (the inside of the chest). I got a bit messy creating this layout. Lots of chalking, inking, distressing, crumpling, burning, folding, cutting, tearing, etc. I used 4 different colors of Stickles. There's Glossy Accents on the gems to give them shine and dimension. I also got my hands on some Grungeboard - that's lots of FUN to play with!!!
*********
BTW, my cutie-pie pirate above turns NINE tomorrow! Shiver me timbers! Where has the time gone!?

08/25/08 Summer Olympics come to a close

I'm sure many of you were glued to the T.V. these past two weeks watching the Summer Olympics cheering on the United States. What a spectacular opening ceremony!!! Deniz and I were watching the festivities and recalling our trip to Beijing, China in 2006. Wishing we could be there now to witness the Olympic Games for ourselves. So to commemorate the Olympic Games I create this Scrapbook layout.

I'm a bit behind in my S&S duties. Last month Chas requested some summery layouts. Well, finally, here's one.

I used Three Bugs in a Rug Summer paper and cardstock stickers. I sewed on a few of my Grandma's buttons and added a pic of my kiddos on the slip-n-slide. Fun! Layout is based on a Valerie Salmon sketch.

Another Spooktacular Creation!!!!!

Sommer has created a "Spooktacular" 12x12 layout that is perfect for those pictures of your little Trick or Treaters. She used the new line of Halloween papers from Karen Foster and created the fun lettering from our Pazzle die cutting system.

Float like a Butterfly

What to do with scraps from a layout...toss, collect, or make some cards! I used some leftover paper from my "HOME" layout to create this butterfly card. No more collecting scraps for me - too much clutter. I now make some cards and toss (recycle) the rest. Try it. It feels good :)

8/12/08 Getting Digi with it!!!

OK, so I finally decided that right now I don't have enough time to scrapbook all the traditional layouts that I would like......I tried digital scrapbooking for the first time. Wow, it is fast and I'm sure as I learn the tricks of the trade it will be even faster. Not only that but all I need is my laptop, all the pictures are there for me and if I want more embellishments and papers I can just download them or go to the Scrap-n-Stamp and purchase a CD. I still love all the papers and embellishments traditional scrapbooking offers, so I will never give it up. But for right now I might try to catch up by doing some of my pages in digital. For this Layout I used Pixel Magic Digital Scrapbooking software, the Daydream and You've Gotta have Faith Kits from Cross-my-heart. All of these are avaiable at Scrap-n-Stamp!!! And if you mention this blog you can receive 20% off digital scrapbooking software!!!!

8/11/08 - Can it be Halloween already?

I know we’re still the summer heat, but before you know it…its Halloween! For us girls at Scrap –n- Stamp, we let Chas take us to the next level of “spook-tacular.” It’s her favorite time of the year and she goes all out. We just got this paper line in from Karen Foster, new for this Halloween. The coffin box and cards is a kit from Pine Cone. Easy to assemble and the choices to make cards or turn the inserts into a mini book are so unique. We’ll be teaching this class late September, so look out for our class schedule. Before you know it…it will be time to trick or treat!

New items at Scrap -n- Stamp

Just a reminder that we have received some new items from Boxer and My Favorite Things. For those animal lovers out there, we have Dog and Cat acrylic stamp sets and fun charms.
And from My Favorite Things we now have in some of the new stamp sets: "Bunny Slippers" which would be great to make cards for someone who is under the weather or just to say "hello" and remember to take the time to rest and relax(especially all of the busy moms). Those of you who are bunny fans, we have in the "Gardner Flopsy" and "I'm Pullin' For You" sets.
From one of the girls here who says that she is not a "scrapper", Chas in particular, created an incredibly fun “It’s a Pirate’s Life For Me” 12x12 page.
The paper and stickers she used are from Creative Imaginations new line of Pirate items.

Don't forget, on Mondays we have FREE Make -n- Take cards which the girls have been busily putting together so come by while they last.

Life's a Beach

Here's my layout for this month's challenge. I love this paper by sassafras from their "Sunshine Lollipop" line. It's so cheerful and fun! I think it is perfect for these pics of my beach bums playing on the beach in Hawaii.

The humidity here in Kansas feels like Hawaii. Yet Kansas sure doesn't look like Hawaii! But when I look at these pictures I can almost feel the sand, hear the waves, and smell the salt water and suntan oil. Aaahhh. Bliss!

8/7/08 - Happy Birthday Cori!

I’m borrowing Marilea’s creation to wish my daughter Cori a very Happy 9th Birthday. We went to Disneyland this past weekend for her birthday and I wanted to make sure the let all of you know that my little girl is growing up to be a sassy teenager (already!). She drives me crazy at times but then I look at her...she’s a little mini me ;-). So for my baby girl Cori, wishing you a very Happy 9th Birthday! XOXO!

August Challenge - Use a sketch

This month we are turning to our favorite sketch gal, Becky Fleck, for inspiration. Your challenge is to create a layout using this pagemap...

Or create a card using this pagemap...

Here is Marilea's take on the pagemap...she turned it on it's side! This card is simply beautiful!

I'll post my layout later this week.

8/5/08 - 15 minutes of fame for Scrap -n- Stamp...

More like 40 seconds..but that works for us! Yesterday, this guy comes into Scrap -n- Stamp and Debbie recognized him right away...it was Dana Howard from News 10. He wanted to see if we wouldn't mind being interviewed for a hot topic about the Governor "possibly" raising sales taxes and wanted to get feedback from local businesses. Perfect timing, Glen had just gotten back from a sales meeting and looked nice. As for me, couldn't they have given me a warning...where's the make up crew ;-). So we thought it would be some 1 second clip, but it was a pretty long news clip...and the first to come on at 11PM last night. In case you missed it...check it out. We're just excited that we made it on the news :-)

NEWS 10, Top Story for Monday evening, August 5, 2008 at 11:00PM
(Click link below in pink)

A Penny for the Governor's Thoughts on Sales Tax Rumblings
The Governor's office declined to confirm word that Schwarzenegger wants to close the $15 billion budget gap by increasing the state sales tax by a penny.

Stay tuned...

The August Challenge will be posted very soon...I haven't forgotten. Really. :)

Mini Golf Anyone??

I just love this new Karen Foster paper and sticker line. I think it is perfect to scrap your last miniature golf outing, or if you are having a miniature golf birthday party this paper would be great for the invites.
