Sand, Sand Everywhere..

As promised here is a great idea for a inexpensive embellishment you can use on beach layouts. Or you can even make a party invitation with it. I came across this in the July/Aug issue of Creating Keepsakes.

1. First sneak into the garage and find your husbands stash of sandpaper ;-) Any grit will do, but look for one that is the color of sand, you will probably need a 6 x 6 piece. But it really depends on the size of embellishment you want.

2. On the back side of the sandpaper draw a sandcastle, or find a template and trace it. If you use something like the picture above it's best if you cut out the towers separate that way you can use pop-up foam to add dimension. Here is the link to the template from Creating Keepsakes.

3. After you have all your pieces cut, take some brown ink and ink the edges.

4. Using pop-up foam and adheasive attach to your card or Layout. If you want to add flags to your castle use toothpicks and triangles cut from paper.
