We've had 5,000 blog hits! We're so thankful to all our customers and blog visitors. We wouldn't be here without you and your continued support. To show our appreciation we will give a $25 store gift certificate to one lucky person. All you need to do is leave a comment on this posting telling us one of your Thanksgiving traditions. We will randonly pick a number on November 22nd after 6 p.m. (PST) from the comments received. Good luck!

When my grandparents were still with us, it was a long walk after dinner and before dessert - loved those and probably need the exercise more now than then! Even though our extended family most often each host their own smaller Thanksgiving dinner for their immediate family, our tradition is to get everyone together afterwards to share desserts - more choices, YUM!

My family was never much for tradition on Thanksgiving Day. We do get together for the traditional holiday meal and enjoy each others company, but after dinner we always get a paper and start planning for the next day, Black Friday.

Every Thanksgiving, we go to my ILs and try not to stuff ourselves. Then we go to my parent's house. Then on Friday, we go to hubby's grandparent's for Thanksgiving leftovers and decorating for Christmas. Every year, three Thanksgiving meals. Then I pull out my fat pants. ;)

I never liked turkey so I would eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with stuffing, gravy, and green bean casserole.

As a kid, I always liked to watch the Macy's Day parade, that was a tradition I shared with my daughter when she was growing up. I would get up early and start the turkey and wake her when it came on. We would have a special breakfast and watch the parade.

I am from a military family and always lived on a miltary base. On thanksgiving we would bake cookies and pack up plates of food and go deliver to the men working the main base gate. They always were so grateful since most of the men that had to work on thanksgiving were newbies and sooo far from their families. It was a great tradition. We don't live on base anymore, but we still deliver baked goods to the local authorites on thanksgiving to show our gratitude to them!

A recent tradition for me has been hosting Thanksgiving. I guess you're all grown up when both sides of the family are willing to come to your house for an important holiday meal. Plus, it's the one time a year that I use our wedding china.

A Thanksgiving tradition for our family is taking a "kids" photo every year for the annual calendar my cousin puts together for all the Aunties. The "kids" photo has now grown to include our dogs and significant others...we went from 6 kids to 16!

Our Thanksgiving tradition has been to get together with family - some years its the in-laws and some years its my family. I get the kids looking nice, cook some food, and meet up with the family. Then, I pour over all the Black Friday ads looking for the best deals and planning my shopping itinerary for the next day =)
