Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Girls at SnS
Christmas is both a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. For two millennia, people around the world have been observing it with traditions and practices that are both religious and secular in nature. Christians celebrate Christmas Day as the anniversary of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, a spiritual leader whose teachings form the basis of their religion. Popular customs include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends and, of course, waiting for Santa Claus to arrive. December 25–Christmas Day–has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1870. (history.com)

Holiday Gift Ideas
In addition to all those fabulous gift ideas the girls have also created a few other options. We have beautiful handmade necklaces that are made with Asian paper. These make wonderful gifts and they are only $10 for a small and $15 for a large.Debbie and Renee have been extra creative this year and came up with some fabulous metal bulletin boards. They have a piece of cork on them so you can pin notes, magnets so you can put pictures on them as well, or you can use the post-it pad that comes with it. They can be custom designed, so if you have a teenager these are great. We can customize them by high school, sport or any other theme. You have to come check these out. These would make an awesome gift for that special teacher. See a couple of the designs below.

Christmas Baker's Dozen
That's right the Christmas Baker's Dozen card class is here. All the girls at Scrap-n-Stamp have been working hard coming up with fabulously creative Christmas themed cards. This is one class you will not want to miss. You will make 13 different cards and for just $40. That is $3.00 a card, what a great deal for hand made cards. Hurry we only have a certain number of kits, and we have already had people sign up. Did I mention you can take the class any time during store hours(must start two hours prior to closing to allow enough time), that way you can come when it's convenient for you.

It's time to scrap those Halloween memories...
Thursday, November 11, 2010
US President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed an "Armistace Day" for November 11, 1918. In proclaiming the holiday he said...
"To us in America, the reflections of Armistace Day will be filled with lots of pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and for the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of nations."
In 1954, Armistace Day was changed to Veterans Day to pay honor to those that fell in World War 2. And those words that were spoken almost a hundred years ago, apply even to this day.
Wishing one of our very own Scrap-N-Stamp gals, Sommer (Army helicopter pilot), a very happy Veterans Day. We appreciate that you are here with us "scrappin" away and thank you for the service that you provided to make us safer. The girls at Scrap-N-Stamp thank those that served and those that are currently serving our country. We would also like to thank all of the people that support the armed forces of the Unites States. Especially to the spouses and significant others who deal with long deployments, late nights at the office and other hardships that a military life may bring. It takes a special person to truly understand and deal with this lifestyle. In honor of Veterans Day, we will be offering everyone our military discount of 20% of every purchase on Friday November 12 through Saturday November 13 (excludes classes and giftcards).
Thank You Veterans

21.9 million: The number of military veterans in the United States in 2009.
1.5 million: The number of female veterans in 2009.

Party for an artist...
Since it's her 3rd Birthday I used three crayon's.
Here is the back of the invite. I used Orange Ink around the edges and Tattered Angle's spray to give it that painted look.

Tool Time
Here is another one of my cards I made for one of my husbands employees, and once again I can't take the credit. I copied this one from a fathers day card that one of the girls at Scrap-n-Stamp made, but it works great for a Birthday card too. The one that I copied had super cut brads that looked like screw heads, but we were all out of them at the store.

For the guys..
Here is a great card for the guys. This card was originally designed and created by Lisa, unfortunately she no longer lives in Elk Grove :-( I stole her design and re-made this card. I think it turned out pretty cool. I used glossy accents to make it look like water is dripping down the mug. we can cut the mug out on the Pazzle if you would like to make your own beer mug card.

Circus
My mom took Kaitlyn to the Circus when they were in town, so I thought it would be nice to send her a cute Thank You Card. I had an idea in my head, but I wasn't sure I would be able to find the images on my Pazzle, but sure enough there was a circus tent and a cute elephant. I think I'm going to cut out another tent for Kaitlyn's scrapbook. If you need a circus tent for your scrapbook come by the store, you can pick out the paper you like and have it cut to the size you want.

Creativity
Research suggests that we are more creative when we’re in good moods, so if
we need to be creative we should do things that make us happy. Perhaps that is
listening to music we enjoy, eating foods we like, watching funny movies, or
socializing with others.32 There is also evidence that suggests being around others
who are creative can actually make us more inspired, especially if we’re creatively
“stuck.” (Organization Behavior By Stephen P. Robbins, Timothy A. Judge)
This made me think about Scrap-n-Stamp and what a great place it is for inspiration.
